Purge the water line before collecting the sample. This may take up to 15 minutes. The sample needs to be representative of the water in the well. If the water has been sitting in the pipes for too long, the radon may have decayed away. Visit our website for information regarding purging.

Failure to follow the testing instructions or protocols may result in an invalid test. These instructions cannot anticipate or address every condition that arises when performing a radon test. Some states have regulations regarding radon testing. If you have questions about your state’s requirements please contact your State Radon Office.

Choose a Sampling Location

Take the sample as close to the well as possible, and preferably from a location prior to water treatment equipment. Remove any aeration devices or filters from the tap or spigot before collecting the sample.
